Birds of Europe: Identification habitat calls

Birds of Europe: Identification habitat calls is a comprehensive bird identification app that provides detailed information on over 470 European bird species. The app features over 1000 illustrations of male, female, juvenile, full and basic plumages, as well as typical flight silhouettes. The latest systematic findings are incorporated, including exclusive species such as rhea, Chilean flamingo and Yellow-headed Amazon, which are not shown anywhere else. The app also includes distribution maps and phenological charts for all species.

Multimedia features include over 600 superb recordings of calls, songs and instrumental sounds, as well as movies of 140 species from the Bergmann and Englaender archive with dubbed original sound recordings. The intuitive ID filter helps identify birds even more easily by size, color, location, habitat and time of year, with arrows indicating the most important features and zoomable images. The app is perfect for taking on vacation, with all text and bird names also available in German and French.

The app was developed with scientific support from ornithologist and Kosmos author Felix Weiss, who has studied almost all of the species described in the field, and illustrated by nature artist Paschalis Dougalis, one of the best bird illustrators in Europe.
